After losing to the Liberty County Bulldogs last week, the Blountstown Tigers had to put that game behind them as they hosted Franklin County at Ted Cooper Field in another district game Friday night.

Franklin County was no match for the Tigers as starters were pulled early after building a big lead allowing backups an opportunity to gain valuable game experience. After building a 44-0 lead by halftime, the Tigers cruised to an easy 51-0 victory. The Tigers improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in district play.

"Overall, we played pretty well," coach Greg Jordan said Monday. "We moved the ball and scored quickly and our young guys got to play a lot. Now we have to focus on West Gadsden and another district game. Our defense held to Franklin County to (-)63 yards of total offense," Jordan noted.

A Tiger win against West Gadsden will guarantee a playoff spot. Liberty County faces Port St. Joe Friday night in a district matchup. If Liberty loses and the Tigers win, there will be a three way tie for the district lead and some sort of playoff will be held. If Liberty wins and the Tigers win, the Bulldogs will be the district champs and the Tigers will be the runnersup. Chipley and Holmes County Friday night will probably decide their district championship.

The Tigers struck swiftly and often in the first period. Quarterback Hunter Jordan connected with Josh Taylor for 37 yards and a touchdown to open the scoring. Andrew Bennett added the extra point.

Two minutes later, Javakiel Brigham scored from one yard out, but Bennett's kick sailed wide. The Tiger led 13-0.

Thirty seconds later after a Franklin County turnover, Jordan passed to Tripp Taylor for 26 yards and a touchdown. Bennett's kick was wide left, but the Tigers were up 19-0.

About two minutes later, Ryan Hathcox returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown.

Brigham opened the second quarter with a two yard scoring dive. Bennett missed his kick again, but the Tigers extended their lead to 31-0.

Bobby Andrews added the next score on a 10 yard run. Bennett's kick was good.

Alex Mayorga got the next Tiger touchdown on a 7 yard run. Bennett missed his kick, but the Tigers' lead was now 44-0 which stood to halftime.

Midway the fourth quarter, Fabian Solomon dove in from the one for a score. Bennett's kick was good and the final score of 51-0 was on the scoreboard.

The Tigers rushed for 237 yards on 32 running plays. Jordan was two of 2 passing for 63 yards and backup Chasen Rholac was 0-1 thru the air.

Franklin County had absolutely no offense against the Tigers. They ran the ball 27 times and lost 63 yards. Franklin County completed 1 or 7 passes for 1 yard.

Brigham rushed for 45 yards on 7 attempts and scored two touchdowns. Alex Mayorga added 75 yard on 4 runs and one touchdown. Fabian Solomon had 41 yards on 5 carries and scored once. Bobby Andrews had one touchdown and rushed for 18 yards. Anthony Wyrick, Brian Middlebrooks, Dylan Lee, Chasen Rholac, and Hunter Jordan all carried the ball Friday night.

Wyrick led the defensive charge with 10 tackles followed by Brett Bozeman and Shon Peterson with 6 each. CJ Hiers finished with 5 tackles.
