Come join the fun at the 26th Annual Goat Day festival set for Saturday, Oct. 20, with a day jam-packed with activities and fun for the whole family!
Highlights of this year’s event will be arts and crafts, food vendors, games, a visit from The Amazing Spiderman, face painting, animal presentations by Zoo World, magic shows, hay rides, and great live musical entertainment all day, starting at 9 a.m. CST.
Goats and goat products will be featured with a goat show and milking demonstrations beginning at 10 a.m. CST.
Goat Day 2012 will offer FREE games and activities for ages 1 to 17 throughout the day. Moon Walk and other various inflatables, pony rides, train rides, special games, coin digs, greased pig chase and a chicken chase will all be part of the schedule of events. Games will begin at 11 a.m. CST.
Another addition to this year’s festival is two horse shows performed by Star Chasers at the Skeet Davis Arena within Sam Atkins Park. The shows will begin at 9 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.
Just across the park at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement will be Pioneer Day featuring music, demonstrations, old fashioned games, food, and fun for the family.
If you enjoy singing the old traditional hymns, drop by the Red Oak Methodist Church at the Pioneer Settlement on Goat Day, October 20, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Tina Smith will be playing the piano and taking requests.
The Red Oak Church will be open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Goat Day admission is $5 per person with children under 2 admitted free. Please note that ALL CHILDRENS’ ACTIVITIES WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE. Free parking within the park, and handicap parking also available. Gates open at 9 a.m. and vendors will be present until 3 p.m.
