OBITUARY - WILLIAM J. "FESTUS" EUBANKS

William J. "Festus" Eubanks, age 58, of Greenwood, passed away on Saturday, Sepember 15, 2012.

He had lived in Jackson County most of his life and was a tugboat captain for 31 years. Mr. Eubanks loved his family and spending time on the water. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling, Spongebob and good heartedly arguing with his granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his father James Eubanks, daughter Karen Annette Hamm and grandson Jarid Kutchey.

Survivors include his mother Vena V. Eubanks of Chattahoochee, his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon Eubanks of Greenwood, son Cody Eubanks and wife Tamela of Marianna, son-in-law and sidekick, Peanut Hamm of Dellwood; daughters, Pam Willis and husband, Paul of Marianna and Melynda Kutchey and husband, Wesley of Cypress; brothers, Jim Eubanks of Chattahoochee and Mike Eubanks of Ocala; sister Frances Ball of Sneads; grandchildren, Brittney Hamm, Whitney Willis, Tiara Kutchey, Tiffany Eubanks, Kurt Willis, Blaise Willis, T.J. Eubanks, Michael Eubanks and Nicholas Eubanks; great grandchildren, Shiley and Gabe Couliette; and many nieces and nepews and adoptive grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Dallas Ellis and Rev. John Barefoot officiating. Interment will follow in Dykes Cemetery.
