During Plummer’s term, the Chamber made much headway with the opening of the Preble-Rish Gallery and the first Swamp & Stomp Mud Run. Plummer was also a strong supporter of the Chamber’s “Shop Local” campaign, Third Thursday series of workshops, and economic development through nature- and eco-tourism.
Ben Hall serves as Blountstown Fire Chief, and has been on the chamber board for three years. He has been an active member of the executive committee, and is anxious to begin his term as chair.
“I am very much looking forward to building on the legacy left to me by years of great chamber presidents,” says Hall. “My main goal is to make the Chamber a friend to not only our local businesses, but to non-profit organizations throughout Calhoun County. I have 14 years of non-profit leadership experience, and using that experience, I hope to bring together these groups to build partnerships with our businesses, in order to promote both agencies and grow our community. I also want to be sure our Chamber is a benefit to the entire county. Whether its a mud run in Altha, a Halloween Carnival in Kinard or a fire department benefit dinner in Clarksville, each of these are opportunities for our Chamber to promote a sense of community. Likewise, it is the small business owner we are here to help. I look forward to continuing events such as the Third Thursday seminars, business bounce and gallery openings, as well as one of our crowning achievements, Swamp & Stomp mud run.”
Hall adds, “While I admit I am no businessman, I am here to work with our members to make Calhoun County better for our businesses, and I look forward to your feedback and your help for the next 18 months.”
