A South Florida man suspected of dealing cocaine in Blountstown is behind bars.
Emilio Vargas, 27, of Stuart, is being held on a $20,000 bond at the Calhoun County Jail.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Calhoun-Liberty Drug Task Force conducted a buy/walk operation back in November on Lockwood Avenue in Blountstown. A confidential source was utilized to purchase $20 worth of crack cocaine from Vargas. The transaction was captured on video and audio equipment.
Vargas was taken into custody last week for sale of cocaine within 1000 feet of a park.
Lt. Timothy Partridge of the Blountstown Police Department and Lt. Mark Mallory of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation.
