Mrs. Josephine McLendon Carr, 80, of Altha, Florida, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in Blountstown, Florida.
Mrs. Carr was born in Altha on February 27, 1932, and had lived in Calhoun County, Florida, all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Glory Hill Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James (Bub) Branning and Woodrow Carr, Sr.; two sons, James Branning and Jimmy Carr, Sr.; her mother, Mandy McLendon; her father, Alex McLendon, Sr.; and a brother, Alex McLendon, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Woodrow (Pug) Carr, Jr. and Johnny Carr, both of Altha; a daughter, JoAnn Callais, of Marianna, Florida; three brothers, James H. McLendon of Blountstown, Florida, Raymond and Roger McClendon both of Altha; six sisters, Nancy Mae Bell Foster, Irene Tew, Christine McDaniel, Linda Hunt and Margie McLendon, all of Altha, and Shirley Martin of Moultrie, Georgia; seven grandsons, two granddaughters and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. (CDT) Saturday, June 16, from the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, Florida with Reverend Carlton Baggett officiating. Interment followed in Page Pond Cemetery, Altha.
