Blountstown High School Athletic Director Greg Jordan has been named Florida’s 2012 Weightlifting Coach of the Year.

The Florida Dairy Farmers present an award to the top coach and weightlifter in the state each year. Coach Jordan led the Tigers to the 2012 Class 1A state title with 31 points and had four lifters win individual state titles.

This is the 20th anniversary of the Florida Dairy Farmers’ High School sports awards.

The Tigers are raising funds now for the weightlifting team’s state championship rings. Watch for details.

Coach Jordan is now busy preparing the Tiger football team for a spring jamboree set for Friday, May 18, at Bowles Field.

Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. Both Sneads and Liberty County will be participating.
