Jeanette Waldron, known as Nanny by her loved ones, passed away May 6, 2012, in Marianna, FL.
Born on February 1, 1933, in Brighton, Highlands County, FL, she moved to Altha, FL, in 2003. She was a homemaker, School Board of Highlands Co. bus operator for 17 years, and devoted, loving, nurturing "Nanny" to 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She worshiped at the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Waldron, from Sweetwater in Hardee Co, FL. They were married on December 24, 1952. They had four children, Barbara F. Guy (Okeechobee), Darryl L. Waldron (Sneads), Sandra S. Evans (Lake Placid), Carlene C. Varnes (Venus).
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Mercer Cemetery in Sweetwater on Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. with graveside services. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lacey and Kenny Leitner (Lake Placid), Joshua "Tater" Varnes (Venus), Kenzie, Luke and John Waldron (Altha/Sneads). Family lunch will be provided at Carlene Varnes’ residence, 350 Shepard Rd, Venus, immediately following the service.
