BY COACH JASON WHITE

The Blountstown Middle School Lady Tigers completed a perfect season to capture their first Panhandle Conference Championship by defeating the Hosford Panthers by a score of 10-3.

The Tigers were led offensively throughout the season by Anna Hassig who had a batting average of .821, 33 runs scored and 12 stolen bases while striking out only once. Taylor Stalnaker also had an incredible season, maintaining a batting average of .727 with 24 hits and 22 RBIs, and had no strike outs.

The Tiger pitchers also had a great season. Trudie Alford led the way with a record of 7-0, pitching 23 innings, facing 114 batters, striking out 18, while giving up only 9 hits. Seventh grader Lana Wood had a record of 4-0, pitching 22 2/3 innings, facing 89 batters, striking out 14, while walking only 4 batters all season.

Defensively, the Lady Tigers played stellar, committing only 9 errors as a team for the season.

These girls have had a very successful season and have worked really hard the last couple of years. The 8th graders will truly be missed as they move on to BHS next season.
