OBITUARY - Martin

Mr. Clarence Martin, 95, of Altha, FL, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, in Marianna, FL.

Clarence was born on February 2, 1917, in Calhoun County and had lived here all of his life. He worked on a dredge boat for a short time in Port Arthur, TX, and served as one of the CCC boys during the depression. Clarence was a retired farmer, farming for 67 years. He was a graduate of Altha High School, a member of Immonia Lake Hunting and Fishing Club for 60 years, and a member of the Altha First Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Martin.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Martin and his wife, Brenda, of Lynn Haven, FL, and Wayne Martin of Blountstown, FL; a daughter, Juddie Barrett, and her husband, Jim, of Durham, NH; three grandchildren, Colby Martin, Kaylei Cain and her husband, Sean, and Kendall Martin; and one great-grandchild, Aiden Cain.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 11 am (CDT) at the Altha First Baptist Church with Reverend Jim McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow in the Chipola Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends Monday, April 9, from 6 until 8 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.

All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
