Panhandle residents are urged to be on the lookout for a missing teen from Walton County.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call Jan. 7 from the mother of 17-year-old Kristen Jones regarding her daughter’s disappearance. Deputies immediately responded to her residence. There is no indication or evidence of foul play, and her mother indicated that Kristen has run away before. The most recent occurrence was Dec. 2011.

Kristen was last seen leaving her residence located in Laurel Hill, Fla. on Jan. 4 at approximately 6 p.m. According to her mother, Kristen walked to a neighbor’s residence and used a telephone to request that her boyfriend, “Bobby,” pick her up.

Kristen was last seen wearing blue jeans and a striped long-sleeved black shirt. She is possibly residing with her boyfriend in Walton County or in the Crestview area of Okaloosa County, Fla.

In addition to working with regional law enforcement agencies, the WCSO asks the public for assistance in locating the missing juvenile. Kristen Jones is described as a white female with tanned skin who is five feet, two inches tall. She weighs approximately 130 pounds and has brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair.

If you have information regarding her whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 892-8186 or your local law enforcement agency.
