A Blountstown woman wound up behind bars herself after lying to authorities about her husband.
Jessica Jolea Kimbrel, 32, has been charged with filing a false police report.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Gary McGhee responded to a home on CR 274 Feb. 19.
Kimbrel alleged her husband had become angry and attacked both her and her daughter. Kimbrel and the child both said the husband had pulled them down by their hair, punched their heads and pulled a kitchen knife, threatening to kill them all. They added he cut his own chest, then fled the scene.
Dep. McGhee found no blood evidence or signs of an altercation.
Later, Kimbrel called to say she lied, allegedly stating she and her daughter were mad at her husband. She said she convinced her daughter to lie about what actually had taken place. Kimbrel further stated her husband never pulled a knife on them.
She was booked into the Calhoun County Jail last Wednesday.
