Mr. Samuel E. Carter, Sr., 84, of Altha, FL, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at his home.
Samuel was born on December 30, 1926, in Calhoun County and had lived here all of his life. He worked in construction for over 25 years and worked for the Calhoun County Road Department for 11 years. Samuel was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. He was of the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Carter; brother, Emmett Carter, Jr.; and two sisters, Jeanette Sunday and Lucille Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Maggie Carter, of Altha; a daughter, Sharon Conyers, and her husband, Marty, of Altha; nephews, Donnie and Ronnie Taylor, both of Defuniak Springs, FL; nieces, Mary Lou Griner and Linda Anderson, both of Defuniak Springs; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 20, at 2 pm (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan Yoder officiating. Private interment was held at the Carter Family Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).

This is my Great Grandfather!!!! I miss him so much i would do anything to get to see him and to hug him one last time! He was my Hero my everything!!!!!!
