William Nathan (Bill) Reeder
Mr. William Nathan (Bill) Reeder, 62, of Altha, FL, passed away Sunday night, November 13, 2011, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a short battle with cancer.
Bill was born on September 13, 1949, in Panama City, FL, and had lived in Calhoun County all of his life. He was a retired correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections and worked at Liberty Correctional Institution from 1994 to 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed having breakfast with his buddies at the river and kickin’ it at Big Bend Sporting Goods. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the United States Army.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Reeder; two sons, Tait and Billy Reeder; and a very special aunt, Jerline Berry.
Survivors include his mother, Estelle Dawson Reeder, of Altha; two daughters, Wendy Cay Reeder of Altha, and Dawson Reeder of Clarksville, FL; a granddaughter, Caylynn Reeder, of Altha; his significant other, Delores “Deanie” Faircloth; and a very special caregiver and friend, Francis Smith.
Memorial services will be held Friday, November 18, at 2 pm (CST) at the Altha Church of God in Altha with Reverend Glynn Dunham and Reverend Alan Nichols officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18, from 1 pm (CST) until service time at 2 pm (CST) at the Altha Church of God.
All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
