The River Valley is hopping this weekend with plenty of activities for all ages...here's the lowdown:

-GALLERY EXHIBIT: An art exhibit featuring images captured during the Scott Kelby WorldWide Photo Walk will open Friday, Oct. 28th, at the Preble-Rish Gallery in downtown Blountstown at the corner of SR 20 and North Pear Street, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 each, and include the reception. Tickets can be purchased online at www.calhounco.org/store or at Blountstown Drugs.

-HAUNTED HAYRIDES: The Blountstown Police Department Employees Club will be sponsoring a haunted hayride at the horse arena at Sam Atkins Park on Friday, Oct. 28, and Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6 p.m. until. Admission is $5 per person. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship program.

-FALL FESTIVAL: Blountstown Public Library’s Fall Festival will be held Friday, Oct. 28, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in the courtyard. Games, prizes, face painting and food.

-FALL STORYTIME: Altha Public Library’s Fall Storytime will be Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 am to 11 am. Come enjoy a great story. Everyone will receive a goody bag.

-SCREAM-LINER EXPRESS: All aboard! The Scream-Liner Express trains will depart Friday, Oct. 28, Saturday, Oct. 29, and Monday, Oct. 31, for Zombie World located in Veterans Memorial Park, Hwy. 12 South in Bristol. Tickets may be purchased starting at 7:00 p.m. eastern time. Departure time is dark-thirty. The ticket booth will close at 10:30 p.m. Admission: $2 (children 3 and under free). All children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

-KINARD CARNIVAL: The traditonal Kinard Halloween Carnival is st for Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Kinard Community Center. The event features pony rides, games with prizes for kids, a cake walk, cake auction, and $500 cash drawing. The costume contest for kids starts at 6 p.m.
