Altha’s Seth Alday attends WFEC “Youth Tour” to D.C.
Lauren Kinman of Chipley and Seth Alday of Altha were among nearly 1,700 high school students from 43 states who participated in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour held June 11-16, 2016, in Washington, D.C. Kinman and Alday were sponsored by West Florida Electric Cooperative (WFEC) and represented Chipley High School (Kinman) and Altha School (Alday).

OBITUARY - Creamer
James Breland Creamer, 63, of Marianna, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016.
Born in Marianna, January 19, 1953, Breland was the son of the late Hubert Charles and Myrl (Barfield) Creamer. He was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Jimmy Creamer and his wife, Carolyn, of Apalachicola, and Ronnie Creamer and his wife, Jane, of Clarksville; two sisters, Sandra White and her husband, David, of Altha, and Barbara Savell of Red Oak.
Graveside services will be at 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, in Chipola Cemetery in Altha with Reverend Clint Clemons officiating.

Mrs. Vera Mae Anderson, 66, of Blountstown, FL, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016, in Tallahassee, FL.
Vera was born on September 16, 1949, in Blountstown to Lewis Lesley and Lola Vera (Gay) Capps. She worked for over 20 years as a lunchroom manager for the Calhoun County School System. Vera had lived in Blountstown all of her life and was a member of Word of Truth Church in Blountstown. She was a kitchen manager for over 20 years with the Florida Baptist Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Junior Anderson; her parents, Lewis and Lola Capps; three brothers, Lewis Capps Jr., Heubert Jackson Capps, and Lewis Ray Capps; sister, Bernice Griffin; a daughter, Sherry Jean Anderson; and a grandchild, Morgen Anderson.
She is survived by five sons, Robert Dale Anderson and his wife, Cathy, of Cullman, AL, Roger Dewayne Anderson of Altha, FL, Charles Leslie Anderson and his wife, Rachel, of Cullman, AL, Derrick Wade Anderson and his wife, Carol Jean, of Altha, Anthony Ward and his wife, Starla, of Marianna, FL; four brothers, Charles Chason, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Billy Mac Capps, of Jackson Co., FL, Bobby Gene Capps, of Bay Co., FL, and Jimmy Wayne Capps, of Panama City, FL; three sisters, June McCardle, of Dothan, AL, Alice Faye Tipton, of Grenada, MS, and Joan Goins, of Stone Mountain, GA; and 14 grandchildren, Mathew Collin Anderson, Michael Dewayne Anderson, Chelsea Danielle Anderson, Ryan Dale Anderson, Bradley Wade Anderson, Zachary Thomas Anderson, Kaylin Marie Anderson, Ethan Charles Anderson, Abigail Jean Anderson, Trenton Lee Anderson, Levi Brandon Anderson, A.J Ward, Casey Ward, and Emily Ward.

Carolyn was born on February 13, 1952, in Tampa, FL, to Charles and Ruthie (Alexander) Creel. Before Carolyn retired, she worked for 18 years as a kindergarten teacher for the Calhoun County School System. Carolyn had lived in Blountstown for most of her life and was a member of Macedonia First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruthie Dean Creel.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Jerry Shields, of Blountstown; her father, Charles Creel, of Blountstown; two daughters, Jennifer Lee and husband, Todd, of Blountstown, and Jessica Clark and husband Corey, of Hosford, FL; two brothers, Jerome Creel and wife, Lazelle, of Blountstown, and Craig Allen Creel and wife, Nikki, of Blountstown, FL.; several nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Frances Smith; and 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Emily, Logan, Jody, Cody, Zachary, Coleton, Corbyn, and Addyson.

Tanya was born on September 1, 1991, in Marianna, FL, to Shane and Betty (Randalph) Whitfield. She worked as a sales clerk. Tanya had lived in Altha all of her life. She was a member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha. Tanya was a 2010 graduate of Blountstown High School.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Carlos and Mary Whitfield, and her maternal grandparents, Betty and John Burns.
She is survived by her father, Shane Whitfield, of Altha; her mother, Annette Christmas, and fiancé, Glenn Lawhorn, of Defuniak Springs, FL; two daughters, Aleeyah Michelle Ammons and Layla Rene Jackson, both of Altha; three brothers, Tommy Whitfield, of Panama City, FL, Jimmy Crawford, of Chipley, FL, and Kadin Whitfield, of Altha; one sister, Shelbie Lynn Whitfield, of Bonifay, FL; and her paternal grandparents, James and Linda Whitfield, of Altha.
