OBITUARY - Melton
Mr. Carol LaDon (Don) Melton, 72, of Altha, FL, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Blountstown.
Don was born on October 30, 1942, in Altha to Eldridge and Lucille (Ayers) Melton. He was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. Don was a retired farmer with over 50 years in farming. He was of the Baptist faith.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Lucille (Ayers) Melton.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Melton, of Altha; one daughter, Teresa Wood, and husband, Larry, of Telogia, FL; one brother, Kirby Melton, of Altha; one grandson, Phillip Melvin, and his wife, April, of Altha; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kara Melvin, of Altha.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Sister Martha Hyles and Bobby O’Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Chipola Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26, from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.

Jackie Louise Weathers, 66, of Fountain passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 in Panama City.
Born in San Francisco, California, July 25, 1949, Jackie was born to the late Rufus Franklin and Mamie E. (Bailey) Weathers.
She was a cheerleader for Altha High School where she graduated in the Class of 1967, earned an Associate of Arts degree from Chipola Jr. College, and attended the University of Florida for a short time. Jackie worked 20 years in banking as a loan officer. She also was a real estate broker and property manager. Jackie began her own bookkeeping business 18 years ago. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association where she was voted Woman of the Year.
In addition to her parents, Rufus Franklin and Mamie E. Weathers, Jackie was preceded in death her niece, Jacquline Marshall.
Survivors include her daughter, Jaclyn Loretta Weathers, of Hendersonville, Tennessee; a grandson, Josiah Kanzler; three sisters, Alice Faye Marshall (Jim) of Clarksville, Janice Moore (Roy Lee) of Blountstown, and Jo Hancock (Keith) of Montgomery; nieces and nephews, Dale Marshall, Mary Sue McClellan, Barbara Ann Bodiford, Brooke Wascher, and Tarra Wurst.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, at Magnolia Baptist Church near Altha.

Mr. Dale Dewayne Davis, 80, of Blountstown, FL, passed away early on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Blountstown.
Dale was born on November 29, 1935, in Clarksville, FL, to L.R. and Lennie (Linton) Davis. He worked for and retired from the Department of Children and Family Services with the State of Florida. Dale had lived in Calhoun County most of his life and was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his brother, L.R. Davis, Jr.; five sisters, Reo McGeachy, Irene Davis Jones Brock, Estelle Davis Shelton O’Bryan, Lennie Davis Faircloth, and Christelle Davis Hall; first wife, Lou Jean Shuler Davis; second wife, Johnnie Elizabeth Richards Shuler Davis; and a stepdaughter, Kimberly Shuler Maddox.
He is survived by three daughters, Donna Jean Davis Ostlund-Woodward and husband, Troy, of Dunkirk, MD, Zann Davis Geiger and husband, Shane, of Hosford, FL, and Chloe Dale Davis Mautz and husband, Andrew, of Clearfield, UT; two stepsons, John P “Bubby” Shuler and wife, Melissa, of Bristol, FL, and Sandy Rae Shuler and wife, Kelly, of Newberry, SC; one stepdaughter, Roni Sue Shuler Seymour, and husband, Kerry, of Perry, GA; one brother, Broward Davis, and wife, Margaret, of Clarksville; one sister, Videlle Williams, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
