Nell B. Ross, 82, of Bristol passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at her home after an extended illness.
Born in Bristol, August 25, 1932, Nell was the daughter of Dave C. and Myrtle Lee (Allen) Brown. She was Finance Officer for the Liberty County School Board for several years. She loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and gardening. Nell was a member of Bristol First Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, Dave and Myrtle Brown, she was preceded in death by a sister, Corrine Beaver.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Ross, of Bristol; three sons, David E. Sumner and his wife, Marian, of Havana, Florida, Ken A. Sumner and his wife, Cynthia, of Bristol, and Bobby M. Ross and his wife, Penny, also of Bristol; a daughter, Patricia Whitfield, and her husband, Steve, of Bristol; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Brown, of Blue Creek; and a sister, Rosetta Strickland, of Bristol.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. ET, at Bristol First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 o’clock with Reverend Kyle Peddie and Pastor Matt Basford officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.

Darcie Mae Whittaker, 90, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in Blountstown after an extended illness.
Born in Bristol, February 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Elvia (Deason) Peters. She was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Later she was a cosmetologist/electrolysis instructor at Lively Technical Center in Tallahassee. Darcie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol.
Other than her parents, Jasper and Elvia Peters, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild and three brothers, Ermil, Willard, and Arlon Peters.
Survivors include two sons, Stan Whittaker and his wife, Brenda, of Bristol, and Steve Whittaker and his wife, Joan, of Dansville, New York; her daughter, Linda Duggar, and her husband, Tommy, of Bristol; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Deloyce Fenn and Vonice Blackburn, both of Bristol, and Janice Texton of Tallahassee.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. ET, Thursday, July 16, at Adams Funeral Home in Bristol. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. ET, Friday, July 17, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bristol with military honors.

Buddy was born on September 12, 1942, in Quincy, FL, and had lived in Bristol all of his life. He was a retired diesel and heavy equipment mechanic. Buddy proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the Bristol Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Bailey) Shuler, of Bristol; two sons, Milton James Shuler, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Bristol, and Richard Carl Shuler and his wife, Joanne, of Bristol; one brother, Nero Shuler, and his wife, Julia, of Bristol; two sisters, Rose Barton and her husband, James, of Quincy, and Shelly Kay Shuler of Bristol; five grandchildren, Rick Shuler and wife, Holly, Candis Mayo and husband, Timmy, Taylor Shuler, Tait Shuler and Brooke Shuler; and four great-grandchildren, Landon Mayo, Sadie Mayo, Ryder Shuler and Branson Shuler.

Keith was born on May 23, 1951, in Lucille, MS, to Horace and Willamina (Whittington) Jones. He had lived in Altha for the past 25 years, coming from New Iberia, LA. Keith was an automobile mechanic and a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one son, John Paul Jones, of New Iberia, LA; one daughter, Casie Layfield, and husband, Chuck, of Altha; one brother, Johathan Jones, and wife, Cindy, of Grand Isle, LA; two sisters, Vivian Marinoni and husband, Otis, of New Iberia, LA, and Marquita McCloud and husband, Alex, of Lucille, MS; and two grandchildren.
