OBITUARY - Cauley
Phyllis A. Cauley, 67, of Altha, Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Tallahassee, Florida.
Phyllis was a member of Glory Hill Community Church where she was choir director and Sunday school teacher. She was also involved with the Calhoun County Public Library Blountstown Branch where she worked in the Volunteers in Service to America, a family literacy program, from 1997 to 2000. She then worked the circulation desk in the library until her retirement in 2008.
Preceding her in death was her father, Marcus J. McGouirk, and her sister, Mary Edna Hill.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy L. (Head) Champion, of Austell, Georgia; her husband, Charles, of Altha; her sons, John E. Holmes and his wife, Betty, Lamar Holmes and his wife, Kim, Keith Cauley and his wife, Shelia, Travis Cauley and his wife, April, all of Altha, and Trent Cauley and his wife, Kathy, of Blountstown, Florida; her daughter, Shaleen Murray, and her husband, Bobby, of Blountstown; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother, Daniel McGouirk, and his wife, Barbara, of Wedowee, Alabama; her sister, Violet Smith, and her husband, Julian, of Austell; her friends, Elsie Cauley of Blountstown and Shirley Williams of Scotts Ferry; her church family; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, at Glory Hill Community Church in Altha. Funeral services will also be in the church at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, with Reverend Riley Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery near Blountstown.

NEWS ALERT: Liberty County Man Killed In Shooting
Tragedy unfolded in Liberty County Wednesday leaving one man dead.
Bryan Stewart, 29, of Telogia, died from a single gunshot wound.
According to Liberty County Sheriff Nick Finch, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the home of Bryan’s father, Randy Stewart, on Randy’s Way off Turkey Creek Road in Bristol.
“No one has been charged,” Sheriff Finch tells The County Record. “The case remains under investigation. An autopsy is being done today. We are partnering with FDLE in the case. I’ve scheduled a meeting for Monday. It will be me, my investigator, FDLE, and the State Attorney’s Office to see where we go from here.”
Although the sheriff confirmed he has a suspected shooter, he did not wish to name anyone at this time pending the results of the autopsy and the investigation. More details on Monday.

The Lord called one of his angels home Monday April 21, 2014. Fe Langas Smiley, 53, of Altha, Florida, was born in Santa Rita, Guam, on September, 28, 1960.
In Fe's worldwide travels, she developed many lasting friendships, especially those in Altha, Tuscaloosa, Fort Polk, and Guam.
Fe is proceeded in death by her father Jose Banua Langas, of Santa Rita, Guam; mother, Anistina Guzman Langas, of Santa Rita, Guam; brother Joseph Langas, of Santa Rita, Guam; and sister, Vicenta Daniel (Estanislao Daniel deceased) of Santa Rita, Guam.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Allen Smiley, of Altha; one son, Stephen Allen Smiley, Jr. of Altha; two daughters, Stephanie Faye Smiley of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Anisha Jolene Smiley of Altha, FL; four grandchildren, Anthony, Evan, Gracie, and Jadyn Smiley of Altha; sisters Gloria Salas (Frank Salas, deceased) of Agat, Guam, and Saturnina Leon Guerrero (Barney Leon Guerrero) of Talofofo, Guam; brothers, Nicolas Langas (Elizabeth Langas) of Barrigada, Guam, El Pidio Langas (Angela Duenas) of Mangilao, Guam, Sandy Langas (Tanya Langas) of San Francisco, CA; mother-in-law, Jennie Smiley Stricker of Altha; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; close friends of the family, the Gregg Family, Anjelica Nixon, and Christy Dozier.

Mr. Henry Clyde Waldron, age 89, of Clarksville, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his home. Mr. Henry was born in Arcadia, Florida, July 20, 1924 to the late Mack and Elvie (Hagans) Waldron. He was a retired logger and was a member of Word of Truth Church in Blountstown, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Clyde Waldron.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Betty Jean (Timbs) Waldron of Clarksville, his son, Jerry Waldron, also of Clarksville; daughters, Melinda Waldron of Blountstown, Sue Bailey and her husband, Clyde of Blountstown, Janis Weiler and her husband, Jack of Blountstown, and Deanna Waldron of Greensboro, Florida; his daughter-in-law Chris Waldron of Clarksville; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Zuella Dillinger of Arcadia; his step-children, Ricky Robbins of Tampa, Florida, Janet Boettjer of Blountstown, Roy Robbins of West Virginia, Earl Robbins and his wife, Brenda of Marianna, Florida, Clifton Robbins and his wife, Wendy of Newport News, Virginia, Sharon Booth and her husband, Harvey of Blountstown, Gary Robbins and his wife Cris of Virginia, and Betty Breelove of Pennsylvania.
