OBITUARY - Weed
Kathryn “Kay” Weed, 91, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Tallahassee, Florida.
She was born August 12, 1922, in Tampa, Florida to the late James and Hattie (Sampson) Perdicaris. Kay taught English and Latin at Blountstown High School until her retirement in 1984. Someone said that she could speak to royalty because she studied English with Mrs. Weed. She was an active member of Blountstown First Baptist Church and did mission work in Africa, Russia, Spain, Indonesia, and Korea. She also worked in prison ministry at Calhoun Correctional Institute and was very active in Gideons International. Kay was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 60 years, Forrest Weed.
She is survived by her son, Allen Robert Weed, and his wife, Dale, of Franklin, Tennessee; her daughter, Susan Kaye Pando, of Marietta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Ryan Weed and his wife, Keli, and Sofia and Louie Pando; two great grandchildren, Beckham and Penelope Weed; a brother, Jim Perdicaris, of Lakeland, Florida; and two sisters, Helen Eady, also of Lakeland, and Katina Perdicaris of Sarasota, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, at Adams Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, in Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Tom Stallworth and Reverend Tim Rhoads officiating.

Joshua Houston Todd, 82, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Blountstown.
Houston was born July 31, 1931, to the late Thomas A., Sr. and Carrie B. (Lollie) Todd in Altha, Florida. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Department of Corrections. Houston was a member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Isaac Todd; a brother, Thomas A. Todd, Jr.; four sisters, Mary Skinner, Ada White, Minnie Arrant, and Lizzie Bell Todd; and a grandson, Daniel Isaac Todd.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Holland) Todd of Blountstown; a son, Michael H. Todd, and his wife, Sonya, of Port St. Joe Beach, Florida; two daughters, Patricia Todd Marx and her husband, Michael, of Lexington, Kentucky and Harriet Todd Watson and husband, William “Bill,” of Crestview, Florida; five grandchildren, Matthew, Lea, and Josh Todd, Whitney Watson, and Jana Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emma and Ethan; four step-great-grandchildren, Chance, Mikayla, Kaitlyn, and Kelsey; and three sisters, Hazel Stephens and Linnie Smith of Blountstown and Myrtice Pitts and her husband, J. A., of Kinard, Florida.

Mrs. Sallie C. Barton, 93, of Altha, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her home.
Sallie was born on October 3, 1920, in Holmes County, FL and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Sallie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Barton and a son, Joseph.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Barton and his wife, Gail, of Blountstown, Ralph Barton and his wife, Sherry, of Altha, FL, and Billy Barton of Altha; two daughters, Barbara Brown of Altha and Becky Young of Marianna; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, at 10 am (CDT) at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha with Reverend Rudolph Barnhill and Reverend Larry Broome officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha. The family will accept flowers but anyone wishing may make contributions to Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Ave. #E, Marianna, FL 32446.

Edward Eugene Carter, II of Altha, Florida passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. Edward was born January 1, 1965 in Blountstown, Florida. He served in the United States Navy and later worked in construction as a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Eugene Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Mercer-Carter; his mother, Mary Frances (Newman) Williams; four sons, Cody Mercer, Fritz Carter, Garrett Carter, and Colt Carter; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Mercer and Cassie Mae Carter; all of Altha.

Dona Alice Leonard Dunn, 72, of Blountstown, Florida passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 after an extended illness. Dona was born in Blountstown August 21, 1941 to Donald and Alice Nelle (Jones) Leonard. She was a graduate of Blountstown High School and Florida State University. Dona taught Home Economics at Blountstown High School until her retirement. She was a member of Blountstown First United Methodist Church and an active member of Panhandle Pioneer Settlement. She was an avid gardener and was always involved with her grandchildren’s activities.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Leonard.
Survivors include her husband, James of Blountstown; two daughters, Deneen Mears of Blountstown and Amanda McCarthy and her husband, Scott of Niceville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Jay and Jordan Swinehart, Reagan and Trace Mears, J. D., Brady, Aidan, and Bryce McCarthy; her mother, Alice Nelle Leonard; three sisters, Ann Gardner and her husband, Jim of Panama City, Florida, Sharon Leonard-McCrone and her husband, Henry of Blountstown, and Dresa Barfield, also of Blountstown; several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Sammy Davis.

She was born January 21, 1942, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, to G.M. and Eleanor Lowery. Carol loved to quilt, fish, and cook for her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Jerry Weeks; two sons, Russell Gangloff, Jr., of San Francisco, California, and Gary K. Gangloff of Lake City, Florida; two granddaughters, Cristen Welsh and Danielle Martinez, of Apopka; sister, Sheila Saunders, of Bushnell, Florida; brother, Jerry Lowery, of Sorrento, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Local relatives include a brother-in-law, James Weeks, and his wife, Lana, of Blountstown, Florida; a step-brother-in-law, Larry Griner, and his wife, Linda, of Quincy; sisters-in-law, Margie Mason, of Blountstown, and Gail Koch and her husband, Bob, of Crystal River; a brother-in-law, Harry Cumbaa, of Blountstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robert Crisson, 93, of Panama City, FL, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014, in Panama City.
Robert was born on February 2, 1921 in Brookland, NY, and had lived in Panama City for the past eight years, coming from Baltimore and Long Key, FL. He loved the water and was an avid sailor. During Roberts early childhood he grew up in Puerto Rico. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Robert received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M College and retired from AT&T.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Haywood Crisson and Mary Gertrude (Darrell) Crisson; and brother, Retired Colonel Ernest John Crisson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruby Crisson, of Panama City, FL, who was the love of his life and best friend; two nephews, Ernest John Crisson, Jr., of Puerto Rico, and Richard Charles Crisson of New Port, RI; a niece, Marilyn D. Casanova, of Puerto Pico; and a sister-in-law, Diana A. Crisson, of Puerto Rico.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 pm (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Craig Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown.
