Mrs. Ouida Delores Carter-Evans, 62, of Panama City, FL, entered into rest Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in Panama City.
Ouida was born on April 9, 1951, in Tokyo, Japan, and had lived in Panama City since 1999, coming from Wewahitchka, FL. She was a medical billing specialist and was a 1969 graduate of Blountstown High School. Ouida was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 392 in Panama City. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paris and Mary Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Steven Evans, of Panama City; one son, James Larry Hensley, of Monticello, FL; ne daughter, Janet Grimes of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Roger Carter and his wife, Lisa, of Panama City, and Larry Carter of Wewahitchka; two sisters, Helen McCowen and her husband, Bill, of Navarre, FL, and Mary Ann Williams and her husband, Tommy, of Blountstown; three grandchildren, James (Jamie) Hensley, Jr., Michael Hensley and Tyler Hensley; one aunt, June Montford, of Selma, CA; four nieces, four nephews and numerous cousins; and her loving Boston Terrier, Espn-Nole.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 29, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Patrick Moore officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 29, from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.

Michael Lee Creek, Sr. of Carrabelle, Florida, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the age of 63.
Michael worked as a newspaper deliverer and was a truck driver for construction debris cleanup. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Michael was of the protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his dad, William Wendell Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl (Yelvington) Creek, of Carrabelle; son, Michael L. Creek, Jr., and fiancée, Kim Norman, of Monticello, Florida; a daughter, Michelle Thomas, and husband, Jody, of Hackberry, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Brandon L. Creek, Kerstin R. She was born May 1, 1948, in Blountstown, Florida, to E.Z. and Kitty Kearce. She was a graduate of Florida State University. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1968. She was a member of Emerald Coast Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Robert L. Young; and brother, Gary Kearce.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Friday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at Emerald Coast Fellowship Church with Dr. Steve Taylor officiating. Cecil was born on September 16, 1938, in Bay County, FL, and had lived in Kinard for most of his life. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and mechanic. Cecil was a member of Advent Christian Church in Clarksville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Newsome, of Kinard; one son, John Keith (J.K.) He was a current resident of Apollo Beach, FL, and a long time resident of Bristol, FL. He graduated from high school in Brandon, FL, and attended Lively Vocational Technical College. He was an electrical superintendent at International Shipyard in Tampa and worked for the Department of Corrections as a vocational instructor for 15 years.
John was the son of the late John Gordon and Lavoris Lewis and grandson of the late Troy Lee and Vinnie McMillan.
He is survived by his sister, Debbie Foster, of Dothan, AL; four children, Shanna Corum of Tarpon Springs, Mike Lewis of Houston TX, Scott Lewis of Independance MO, and Kellie Banks of Tarpon Springs; and eight grandchildren.

NEWS ALERT: Man Airlifted After Crash on Bridge
A Bristol man has been airlifted to Bay Medical Center following a crash on the Apalachicola River Bridge this morning. Sources say the accident occurred just before 7 a.m. when a man was on a motor scooter traveling westbound in close proximity to a garbage truck. The two vehicles made contact and the motor scooter driver was thrown, landing on the concrete. The bike was then run over by the truck. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. Traffic was delayed for over an hour. More details as they become available.
NEWS ALERT: Three More Apply for Liberty Sheriff Post
Three additional applicants stepped forward this week to apply for an appointment to the Liberty County Sheriff's post. Gene Revell, who served as a captain at the Leon County Sheriff’s Office from 1975 to 2011, submitted his application early this week. The County Record had already printed when two additional names were announced Tuesday afternoon. Eddie Joe White, a deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office from 1997 to 2003 who ran for the sheriff's position in 2012, threw his hat into the ring, along with Jimmy Faircloth, who served as a Liberty County Sheriff's Office investigator and deputy from 1979-2004. Former Franklin County Sheriff Lloyd Alton “Skip” Shiver, Jr., and Rudolph Matas Hinson, who served as a sergeant with the Tallahassee Police Department from 1982 to 2012, have also applied for the appointment. Governor Rick Scott is expected to fill the vacancy by July 4.
