Alva Duane Derr of Sneads, Florida passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Donalsonville, Georgia. He was born in Panama City, Florida and later moved to Sneads. He was an electrician and he was preceded in death by his dad, Paul Derr.
Survivors include his mother, Debra Clayton of Sneads; a brother, George Derr and his wife Margaret of Cypress, Florida; a sister, Morgan Maloy of Sneads; and aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
Memorialization will be by cremation.

Ryan Christopher Flowers, age 17, of Kinard passed away Tuesday morning, May 7, 2013 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Ryan was born on November 28, 1995 in Panama City, FL and had lived in Kinard all of his life. He was a junior at Blountstown High School, a member of the Stem Program a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Vica Club. Ryan was a member of the Kinard Volunteer Fire Department and had volunteered with the Calhoun County EMS with over 500 hours of service. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include,

David M. “Tootie” Wood, 73, of Altha, Florida, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013.
He was a surveyor for the United States Geological Survey Department of the Interior for thirty-three years where he helped establish the GPS System in the United States; mapped the National Parks in the Eastern seaboard, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the Everglades, Okefenokee Swamp on foot and air boat, and also mapped the Smokie Mountains. He was a good friend to many and he loved people.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois (Willis) Lott, and his brother, Donald Wood.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Cheryl, of Altha; three sons, Roman Wood and wife, Angie, of Blountstown, Florida, Shawn Wood and wife, Sherry, of Chattahoochee, Florida, and Pace Wood and fiancé, Barbara Tinsley, of Altha; grandsons, Taylor Tootie Wood, Bryson Wood and Tristen Wood; and his dad, Hayward Lott, of Aiken, South Carolina.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Donna Barber Peacock, age 49, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Blountstown, Florida after an extended illness. Donna was a 1982 graduate of Blountstown High School and was registrar at Keiser University in Tallahassee for many years.
She is survived by her children, Kristin J. Peacock and William David Peacock; her parents, Donald E. and Susan J. (Straub) Barber; a brother, Charles E. “Chuck” Barber; and surrogate children, Wesley Brett Petty and Joseph Carl King.

Mrs. Janice Tillman Alday, age 66, of Blountstown, FL passed Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Tallahassee, FL.
Janice was born on August 17, 1946 in Altha, FL and had lived in Calhoun County all of her life. She along with her husband, Buster, were owners and operators of Alday Insurance Agency in Blountstown, FL. At an early age in life Janice went to work at West Florida Gas Company and worked for M.E. Young for 18 years. She loved fishing and was member of Immonia Lake Fishing Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell (Buster) Alday of Blountstown; one son, Teddy Alday and his wife, Stacie, of Helena, AL; one daughter, Janna Richardson, and her husband, John, of Crawfordville, FL; two brothers, David Tillman and his wife, Barbara, of Blountstown; Delmar Tillman and his wife, Ruth, of Marianna, FL; three sisters, Gretchen Griffin and her husband, Woodrow, of Blountstown, Inez Capps and her husband, Paul, of Greenhead, FL; Lavaine Williams and her husband, Lloyd, of Marianna; five grandchildren, Bridgett Alday, Casey Alday, Marshall, Mason and Alexander Richardson.

Faye was born on October 28, 1952, in Calhoun County, FL and had lived in Lynn Haven for the past 28 years, coming from Blountstown. She served in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. Faye was past 2 times Commander of American Legion Post # 356 in Panama City, past first District Commander, past Western Area Commander and past Membership Chairman of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Johnny Faircloth and Joyce Summerlin Brown, and her step father, Buddy Brown.
Faye was an avid Florida State Seminole Fan and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Douglas Skaggs of Lynn Haven; a daughter, Denise Green Exum, of Blountstown; a step-daughter, Tammy Young and her husband, Dave, of Panama City; brothers and sisters, Floyd Brown and his wife, Pam of Blountstown, Jerry W. Brown and his wife, Julie, of Clarksville, Bobby Faircloth and his wife, Vaneisa, of Blountstown, Marie Kammerdiener and her husband, Robert, of Pensacola, and Patsy Guzman of Altha; three grandchildren, Wyatt L.
