Charles Henry Grantham, Sr.
Mr. Charles Henry Grantham, Sr., 81, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, in Tallahassee, FL.
Charles was born on August 20, 1931, in Calhoun County and had lived here most of his life. He was a minister for over 40 years and owner and operator of Grantham Enterprises for over 30 years in Blountstown. Through Charles’s great generosity, he touched the lives of hundreds and hundreds of people with thousands of dollars in donations and charity. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army, a member of the Grumpy Old Men’s Club and a member of the Democratic Committee in Blountstown.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Grantham, of Blountstown; three sons, Charles Grantham, Jr. and his wife, Bonita, of Blountstown, Donnie Joe Grantham of Blountstown, and Alvin Grantham and his wife, Maranda, of Blountstown; one daughter, Dianne Grantham, of Blountstown; two brothers, Harvey Grantham and his wife, Mae Belle, of Blountstown, and Curtis Grantham and his wife, Cindy, of Altha; two sisters, Mattie Nichols of Blountstown, and Pauline Mimmer of Snider, TX; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Ricky Grantham, and special friends, Bobby McDaniel, Nathaniel Davis and Dr. Misbah Farooqi.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 24, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
