Mrs. Karia V. Hicks, 76, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Blountstown.
Karia was born on April 9, 1935, in Bainbridge, GA, and had lived in Blountstown for the past 4 years, coming from Tallahassee. She was a retired secretary for Dr. William Smith and also worked as a secretary for an accounting firm. Karia was a long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Tallahassee where she served as secretary for the board. She was a graduate of Leon County High School and a graduate of Lively Technical Institute in Tallahassee where she worked as a typing instructor.
Survivors include three nephews, Mitch Vickers of Tallahassee; Mark Vickers and his wife, Laura, of Bogart, GA, and Paul Vickers of Tallahassee; three nieces, Kristina Duggan and her husband, Donny, of Albany, GA, Paulina Sabitsch and husband, Gary, of Tallahassee, andMarissa Dickson of Nashville, TN; two sisters-in-law, Linda Vickers of Crawfordville, FL, and Jane McClellan of Tallahassee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, at 11 am (CDT) at Macedonia First Baptist Church near Blountstown with Reverend David Wood and Chaplain Sugrim Singh officiating. Interment will follow at 2 pm (CDT) at Vickers Cemetery in Havana, FL. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 31, from 10 am (CDT) until service time at 11 am (CDT) at Macedonia First Baptist Church.

Hoyt David Graham of Hosford passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the age of 85. Hoyt was born in Danielsville, Georgia but he was a long time resident of Hosford. He loved the outdoors and was a seasoned woodsman and worked as a logger for many years. He also worked with the Liberty County Road Department for fifteen years. His greatest love was his wife and family. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Hosford.
Preceding him in death was his wife of fifty-two years, Gertrude Howell Graham; his parents, Thomas Lonie and Mercilla Jane (Turner) Graham; his brothers and sisters, Elco Graham, J. B. Jared L. Cobb, 35, of Hosford, Florida, formerly of Spring Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Hosford.
Jared was born May 7, 1976, to Garry O. and DeLores (Potts) Cobb of Spring Hill. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1995. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in August of 1996, served 14 months in Saudi Arabia, and was honorably discharged in August of 2000. After being discharged, he worked as a supervisor for Home Depot in Florida and, for the past three years, was a corrections officer for the Florida Department of Corrections.
Jared loved being with his boys, Gavin and Connor. He went to all their soccer and baseball games. He felt that being a “Dad” was his greatest achievement. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Talquin and playing X-Box. Jared was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in Towanda, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vaughn L. Potts; step-grandfather, Thomas P. Rossa; his aunt Bonnie Yarnes; and uncles, Floyd, Kenneth, and Francis Cobb.
Survivors include two sons, Gavin R. Cobb and Connor M. Cobb, of Tallahassee, Florida; parents, Garry and DeLores Cobb of Spring Hill; his brother, Vaughn, and Carolyn Cobb of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; grandmother, Maxine M. She is survived by her son, Lyvoyd Jeter and his wife, Dorothy of Grand Ridge; two daughters, Sarah Lamb and her husband, Bobby of Arkansas and N. Ruth Smith and her husband, Jack of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3 at Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Cook officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

OBITUARY - Barker
Mr. Thomas Dalton Barker, age 85, of Scotts Ferry passed this life Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
He was a native of Pensacola, FL and resided in Scotts Ferry, FL since 1976. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mr. Barker was a retired letter carrier with the United States Postal service for 33 years. He was a Navy Seaman during WWII. He was an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 65 years, active member of the Florida Sheriffs Association for 17 years, Scotts Ferry Volunteer Fire Department and the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Barker, Parents Willie L. and Nina Floyd Barker. Granddaughter Tammy Durden Gates, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Kay Durden, and husband, Ronnie, of Grand Ridge FL; grandson, Phillip Melvin and wife, April; great-granddaughters, Taylor and Kara Melvin all of Altha; granddaughter, Amy Durden Tummenelle, and husband, John; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Heather, Ronnie and Jessica, all of Chipley, FL; great-grandchildren, Crystal and Jason Money, of Victoria Texas, and Susan Gates of Blountstown; and his brother, Joe Barker, of Scotts Ferry, FL. Other survivors include three step daughters, Paulette Warren of Brewton, AL, Pat Thompson of NC and Joyce Shaw of Pensacola; 11 step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren, and two step great-great grandchildren. Special niece Kathy Barker of Pensacola FL and many other friends and relatives also survive.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm CT on Thursday March 1, 2012 at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown FL. Service will be Friday March 2, 2012, at 3:00 pm CT at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown. Interment will be at little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Molino Fl. Saturday March 3, 2012.
A family Service will be Saturday March 3, at 2:00 pm CT at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time.
