Mrs. Kathryn Fant, 87, of Altha, FL, passed away Thursday night, October 27, 2011, at her home.
Kathryn was born on September 11, 1924, in Oklahoma and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksville.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fant.
Survivors include three sons, Eugene Fant and his wife, Frances of Altha, FL; Billy Fant of California; Al Fant and friend, Anita, of Blountstown; two daughters, Dale Shaw, of Blountstown; Judy Danley and her husband, David, of Blountstown; one brother, Alfred Kennedy, and his wife, Deloris, of California; two sisters, Mary Luker of California and Alice Smith and her husband, George, of New Mexico; a special friend and caregiver, Sandra Beck; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 30, at 2 pm (CDT) at Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksville with Dr. Shawn Williams and Chaplain Ronnie Wright officiating. Interment followed in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Clarksville.

Melanee Raiyne Craig, infant daughter of Michael Paul and April J. (Lewis) Craig of Hosford, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, in Gainesville, Florida.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Caige and Gunnar Craig, of Hosford; her grandparents, Ricky and Terry Lou Lewis, and Marleen Beck; great-grandparents, Jean Pullam, Myrtice and A. W. Beck, all of Hosford, and Litamay Lewis of Blountstown; aunts, Jennifer Beck of Hosford and Rosy Lewis of Altha; many cousins and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Destinee Craig; her grandfather, Mike Craig; and great-grandfather, Julias Pullam.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 23, in Wesleyan Chapel Cemetery in Hosford with Reverend Thomas Adams officiating.

Eunice M. Messer of Altha passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, in Altha at the age of 79.

She was born July 30, 1932, in Altha to the late Elonzo B. and Claudie (Burke) Messer. She was a homemaker and was a member of Page Pond Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, J. B. Messer and Howell “Dick” Messer; and a sister, Helen Chason.

She is survived by a sister, Edna Earl Laramore, of Altha; a sister-in-law, Erlene Messer, also of Altha; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, in the chapel at Adams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Page Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 21 at Adams Funeral Home.

Linda Duncan of Pinson, Alabama, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011, at the age of 68.
She was born in Quincy, Florida, September 21, 1943, to the late Forehand and Eunice Hazel (Bateman) Rankin. She was a graduate of Florida State University and taught school in Helena and Mobile, Alabama.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Duncan; three sons, John Duncan and his wife, Susan, of Odenville, Alabama, Marc Duncan and his wife, Michele, of Lakeland, Florida, and Scott Duncan and his wife, Heather, of Lincoln, Alabama; five grandchildren, Erin, Kathleen, Cameron, Ethan, and Kate.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. ET, Wednesday, October 19, in Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol with Reverend Alan McManus officiating.

Mr. Charles Robert Tanner, 65, of Bristol, FL, passed away Friday night, October 14, 2011, in Gainesville, FL.
Charles was born on July 8, 1946, in Tallahassee, FL, and had lived in Bristol for the past 44 years. He was a retired stumper and a truck driver. Charles was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW and River of Life Assembly of God Church in Bristol.
Survivors include his wife, Fonda Tanner, of Bristol; one son, Billy Tanner, of Bristol; one Daughter, Pam McDaniel, and her husband, David, of Bristol; two brothers, Sammy Tanner and his wife, Debbie, of Havana, FL, and Sammy Tanner, Jr. of Washington, DC; two sisters, Judy Banks and her husband, Joe, of Sylvester, GA, and Barbara Morris and her husband, Bill, of Doles, GA; and two grandchildren, Charlie McDaniel and his wife, Brandy, and Myncie Kate Carnley of of Bristol.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 17, at 4 pm (EDT) at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Bristol with Reverend Aaron Schwendeman officiating. Interment followed in the Meacham Cemetery in Bristol.

Barbara Kamiel of Blountstown passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011, in Blountstown at the age of 65.
She was born in New Jersey April 20, 1946, to the late Nathan and Laura Kamiel. She came to Blountstown in 1969 and was of the Jewish faith.
No services are planned at this time; memorialization will be by cremation.

Donna Kaye Pope, 57, departed us on Monday, October 10, 2011, to live eternally with her Lord and Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 22nd followed by a reception at Christ Church Anglican, 3383 Coastal Highway (U.S. Highway 98), Crawfordville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church Anglican, Florida Wild Mammal Association (www.wakullawildlife.org/), or Friends of Wakulla Springs State Park (http://wakullasprings.org/) in memory of Donna Kaye Pope.

A native of Blountstown, Florida, Donna was a former member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church and a 1972 graduate of Blountstown High School. After graduating from Chipola Junior College in 1974, and then the University of West Florida in 1976, Donna completed internship in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH) School of Medical Technology in 1979. She worked as a registered medical technologist at TMH and other area hospitals until serving as an environmental scientist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection until 1996. She was most recently employed by the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) where she served as an Environmental Program Administrator in DOT’s Central Environmental Management Office.

A resident of Crawfordville since 1990, Donna was an active member of the St. Teresa Episcopal Church and then Christ Church Anglican. Donna loved music and among her greatest talents, of which there were many, was to play the piano, keyboard, organ, banjo, or just about anything. Even when her health was increasingly deteriorating, she continued to play accompaniment for the early morning church service and make joyful music unto the Lord.

Survivors include her mother, Vilas Pope, of Blountstown, her brother Jim Pope and his wife Carole Pope of Rockledge, Florida, her devoted friend and caregiver Vicki C. Sharpe of Crawfordville, her extended family which include godparents Guy and Mary O’Donnell of Ft. Lauderdale, and Mike, Christine, and Jessica Beatty of Crawfordville, Adrian Sharpe also of Crawfordville, and many wonderful friends.

Donna greatly treasured the many friendships she had forged in life, and each was considered by her to be a special blessing from God. The family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation to all who helped care for Donna, especially Mary McMahan and Lynn Vickers of Big Bend Hospice in Wakulla County, Father John Spicer of Christ Church Anglican, and to all the friends, family, and fellow church members who visited, called, sent beautiful cards, gifts, flowers, thoughts and prayers throughout her long illness.

Mrs. Mary Ethell Harvell, 87, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at her home in Blountstown.
Ethell was born on November 13, 1923, in Blountstown and had lived here all of her life. She was a homemaker and attended Rivertown Community Church in Blountstown.
Ethell was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Harvell; parents Dessie and Ardell Stone; three sisters, Estelle Hood, Maggie Martin and Viola Rossen.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Cook, and her husband, Tommy, of Blountstown, FL; three stepdaughters, Patricia McGee and her husband, Gary, of Bristol, Eula Mae Stanfill and her husband, Mack, of Pensacola, FL, and Irma Kindell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, William Thomas Cook and his wife, Celest, of Blountstown, and Corey Neal Cook and his wife, Patricia, of Clarksville, and 19 other grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Cook, Corybyn Cook, Carleigh Cook, Morgan Welch, and Aaron Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, at 2 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Morris and Reverend Claude McGill officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends Monday, October 10, from 6 until 8 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
