Mr. Charles E. McCoy, 85, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in Blountstown.
Charles was born on June 24, 1926, in Chattanooga, TN, and had lived in Blountstown for most of his life. He worked at Blountstown High School as a custodian for several years. Charles was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Blountstown.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Echo.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle McCoy, of Blountstown; two sons, Peewee Mitchell and his wife, Helen, of Altha, and Jimmy Mitchell of Blountstown; five daughters, Ellen Glass of Tallahassee, Patricia Wallace and her husband, John, of Altha, Linda Young and her friend, Donald Allen, of Blountstown, Kay Fender and Barbara Jean Mitts of Oregon; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
No funeral services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).

Mrs. Iris M. Holt, 87, of Clarksville, FL, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Blountstown, FL.
Iris was born on December 5, 1923, in Lakeland, FL, and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She, along with her husband, James, owned and operated the Seminole Restaurant in Calhoun County for several years. Iris was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 179 in Blountstown, FL. She was inducted into the Eastern Star on November 28, 1950, served as Worthy Matron in 1954 and held 16 out of 18 positions. She was a member of the Poplar Head Baptist Church in Clarksville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Holt.
Survivors include her son, Frank Gates, and his wife, Sylvia, of Fultondale, AL; one brother, Ed Frank McFarland, and his wife, Peggy, of Port St. Joe, FL; two sisters, Eunice Hill and her husband, Kelly, of Kinard, FL, and Virginia Newsome and her husband, J.C., of Frink, FL; two grandchildren, Holley Gates of Pelham, AL, and Gina Averett and her husband, John, of Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 11 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Sumner officiating. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Boggs Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, from 6:00 pm (CDT) until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.

Tressie Naomi Henderson Clark, 84, of Bristol, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, at her home.
Tressie was born in Gadsden, Alabama, and had lived in Bristol since the early 50’s. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robin D. Preston.
He is survived by his two sisters, Paula Rahn of Bristol and M. Lynne Carter of Rosharon, TX.

Carol was born on September 6, 1943, in Clarksville, FL, and had lived there for most of her life. Carol worked for several years at the Majic Market, 12 years at Russell Sewing Corp. and 12 years at the Callahan Restaurant. She was a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church. Carol loved camping, traveling and family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Burke, Jr. and Mae Burke, and a brother, Marion Burke, of Altha, FL.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Cain, and her husband, Johnny, of Clarksville; two sons, Steve Campbell and his wife, Nora Ann, of Telogia, and Scott Campbell and his wife, Jackie, of Spring Hill; one brother, Howard Burke, and his wife, Dawn, of Altha; one sister, Hazel Glaze, and her husband, Ronnie, of Compass Lake; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews.

She was a student at Grand Ridge Middle School and attended RiverTown Community Church in Blountstown, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Nelson Trickey, and her paternal grandfather, Gene Faircloth.
Carson is survived by her father, Jeffery Faircloth, of Sneads; her mother, Paula T. Faircloth, of Quincy; two brothers, Brennan Faircloth and Maddox Faircloth, both of Sneads; one sister, Lauren Faircloth, of Sneads; maternal grandmother, Mary Trickey, of Altha; paternal grandmother, Edna Faircloth, of Sneads; and maternal great aunt, Janet Trickey Pooser, of Altha.
