Michele Futch’s class enjoys annual “Christmas bus” ride
Mrs. Michele Futch and her class at Blountstown High took a ride on the Christmas Bus Dec. 16 with Mr. Danny Ryals. The scene was set with wintry skies, cool temps, and holiday music playing in the bus. The students were taken on a tour of the town and enjoyed the “Christmas Bus” experience!

I want to introduce to you Mrs. Vicki Bennett from Blountstown High School. Born in Marianna, she has lived in Blountstown her entire life and attended BHS. After graduating in 1977, she attended Chipola Junior College (now changed to Chipola College) for two years and then attended FSU. She has an Associates of Arts degree from Chipola and a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from FSU. She taught at Blountstown Elementary School for 24 years and is presently a Reading Coach at BHS. She has been at BHS for four years and has been in teaching for a total of 28 years. [Full Story »]

Rising Sunshine State Scholars
Seven BHS 9th grade students received certificates of recognition as “Rising Sunshine State Scholars” for their 8th grade FCAT scores in Math and Science! Casey Johnson, Justin Woods, Kristen Jenkins, Staci Mayo, Jake Brown, Karah Beaver, and Brandon Purvis all achieved levels of 5 in the mathematics and a 4 or 5 in the science portions of the 8th grade FCAT.

How well do you know Blountstown’s Head Football Coach? Greg Jordan was born in 1969, in Florala, Alabama. He attended Blountstown High and played J.V football under Coach Billy Jones during his freshmen year. The team went undefeated that year with a 7-0 record. The next three years Coach Jordan started at QB on varsity under Coach David Pitts.
