A Fountain man has been arrested following an investigation into a Clarksville burglary.Richard Eugene Bristow, 49, was taken into custody Thursday on burglary of a structure, grand theft from a person over 65 and dealing in stolen property charges.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Jared Nichols and Lt. Adam Terry opened the case Aug. 14 after a homeowner discovered several tools and some barb wire had been stolen from his barn. The investigation led to a residence in the "Little New York" community of Calhoun County where it was learned Bristow had sold a family member two rolls of barb wire. It was identified as the barb wire stolen in the Clarksville case.
Inv. Michael Bryant and Lt. Terry located Bristow at his Bay County home. He denied stealing the items and said he had not been on the Clarksville property in weeks. Further investigation resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
