The 2011 O-zone all star team would like to thank our community and corporate sponsors for helping make this trip to Avon Park, Fl possible. The team finished the tournament with a 2 - 2 record. The wins come against Port St. Joe and Hardee County.
In each loss the team put up a late inning rallies and had the potential tying runs in scoring position. The kids played hard and never quit. Tyreek Sumner hit a grand slam and Jamal Howard hit a 2 run home run against Marianna in the second game which we fell short in 10 - 8 loss. The pitching staff was led by D'anta Williams and Bryson Horne who was also named MVP of the two games we won. There were great "stretches" made at first base by Mi'Kel Engram and Latayvian Godwin, awesome plays at the plate defended by Tucker Jordan and Tristen Burke, and tough catches in the outfield by Jacob Yon, Rashaad Simmons, Alex Buggs and K.K. Godwin. We are very proud of these kids and how they represented our community.
