Mr. Clarence Edward Adkins, 55, of Tallahassee, FL, and a former resident of Calhoun County, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in Tallahassee.
Clarence was born in Calhoun County and had lived here all of is life. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Protestant faith.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lucy Adkins; a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Larry Wolf; a nephew, David Summerlin.
He is survived by sisters, Louise Wommack and her husband, Doug, of Havana, FL, and Lucille Adkins of Mississippi; brothers, Gene Adkins and his wife, Susie, and Rogers Adkins and his wife, Lois; nephews, Darin Summerlin of Altha, Richard Eugene Adkins and his wife, Veda, of Blountstown, Chris Adkins of Mississippi, David Adkins of Altha, Sammy Stewart and his wife, Brandi of Tallahassee, and Terry Hill; nieces, Vicky Caseltanos and her husband, Bert, of Whiteville, NC, Cassandria Parnell of Tallahassee, Alexandria Thompson of Tallahassee, Mary Jane Summerlin of Tallahassee, Shannon Summerlin of Tallahassee, Misty Holcomb and her husband, Kyle, of Hosford, Brandi Bunkley of Bristol, Hadley Adkins and her husband, Jim Frank, of Wewahitchka, Betty Adkins of Altha, Jennifer Pitts of Blountstown, Julia Roper of Blountstown, and Rhonda Tipton and her husband, James, of Bristol; great nephews, Bradley Pitts, Shawn Pitts and Ethan Pitts, all of Blountstown, and Zander Adkins; great niece, Jennifer Caseltanos, of Whiteville, NC; brothers-in-law, Charles David (Dirt Dobber) Adkins, of Altha, and Claude Hill; and friends of the family, Deborah and Raymond Couch of Marianna.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, at 11 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gene Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. The family will receive friends Monday, July 18, from 10 am (CDT) until service time at 11 am (CDT). All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
