INVITATION TO BID

The Calhoun County School Board will receive sealed bids until 3:00 PM, CT, Thursday, July 14, 2011, for the purchase of the following:

Bread Products (hamburger buns, wiener buns, sub buns and sandwich loafs) for use in the school cafeterias for the bid period of July 18, 2011 - June 30, 2012.

Any additional information or bid forms required may be obtained at the Office of the Superintendent, 20859 Central Avenue East, RM-G20, Blountstown, Florida 32424. Each bidder submitting a bid must use bid forms, otherwise bids will not be considered.

Any bid submitted after the specified hour and date will not be opened or considered. The Board accepts no responsibility for mailed proposals that arrive at the Superintendent’s Office after the above stated time even though the envelope may reflect a postmark prior to the above stated date.

The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The decision of the Board will be final. No bid may be withdrawn by any bidder for a period of thirty (30) days after bids are opened.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners in and for Calhoun County, Florida, after public hearing, conducted after due public notice, has adopted a Resolution abandoning, vacating, discontinuing and closing for use as a public street, road, or other place for travel, that portion of the Musgrove Road in Calhoun County, more particularly described as:

That portion of Musgrove Road lying between Bodiford-Oglesby
Road and Buddy Johnson Road.

This Resolution further provides that the right, title and/or interest of Calhoun County, and the public, heretofore acquired by Calhoun County, is renounced and disclaimed.

NOTICE TO RECEIVE SEALED BIDS

The City of Blountstown will receive sealed bids from any qualified person, company or corporation interested in constructing:

CHARLIE JOHNS STREET SIDEWALK

This project consists of concrete sidewalk construction, pedestrian bridge and minor drainage improvements along Charlie Johns Street, Burns, Crozier, and Finlay Streets.

All bidders shall be pre-qualified with the Florida Department of Transportation per Section 2-1 of the F.D.O.T. Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2010 edition.

Plans and specifications can be obtained at Preble-Rish, Inc., 20684 Central Avenue East, Blountstown, Florida 32424, (850)674-3300. The bid must conform to Section 287.133(3) Florida Statutes, on public entity crimes.

Bids will be received until 12:00 NOON CST, on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Blountstown City Hall, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424, and will be opened and read publicly on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. CST at the City Council Meeting Room at 17262 NW Angle St., Blountstown, FL 32424. All Bids shall be submitted in an envelope clearly marked “Sealed Bid – CHARLIE JOHNS STREET SIDEWALK”.

Completion date for these projects will be 120 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder.

Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $750.00 per day.

Please indicate on the envelope your company name, that this is a sealed bid, and the bid number.
The original bid plus two (2) copies should be included.

Cost for Plans and Specifications will be $100.00 per set and is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to PREBLE-RISH, INC.

The City of Blountstown reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid, to accept and/or reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in their judgment will be in the best interest of the City.
