A disturbance call on Hwy. 71 North led to the arrest of Crystal Wooten, 28, charged with possession of prescription drugs without a prescription.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Trooper Dallas Jones stopped to help a motorist, identified as Wooten.
Her brother and mother showed up and, when Trooper Jones suspected something was wrong with her, he asked her brother to give her a ride to her nearby home. Trooper Jones remained outside finishing paper work and spotted someone run out of the residence screaming. He then saw Wooten being restrained by her brother. Dep. Gary McGee arrived to assist and found Wooten combative with erratic, unclear speech. Upon questioning, she said she had only taken her prescribed medications. A search of her purse turned up two Lorezepam she was not prescribed.
