A ceremony was held last Wednesday morning to dedicate the USDA Farm Service Agency Agriculture Complex in Blountstown to the late J.L. McCroan.
For 38 years, McCroan served as County Executive Director. He was a University of Florida graduate, a lifelong cattleman, and was honored with the ASCS state award. In addition to covering Calhoun County, McCroan took over the Farm Service Agencies in Gulf and Franklin counties in the mid 90s. He retired in 1998. His wife, Clara, is shown with their son, Randy, his wife, Treva, grandchildren and relatives during the dedication.

It is fitting that the new Ag Complex is dedicated to JL McCroan. A great man, who I remember fondly as always willing to help us young boys via little league and boy scouts. I also remember visiting him many many times in his offices there at the complex.
he will be missed so this is a fitting tribute for him and his family
