Calhoun County native Adrian Falcon Sapp lost his life last Wednesday during an apparent robbery.

Sources say Adrian, 32, was outside an apartment complex in Alameda, CA, when he was gunned down in broad daylight. Three men between the ages of 22 and 26 were arrested in connection with his death. Reports indicate Adrian may have known his assailants. One report alleges the trio had Adrian meet them at the large apartment complex regarding an interaction they had in previous days, but it turned into a robbery. No word on the motive.

Adrian is a 1997 graduate of Marianna High School and attended both Carr School and Blountstown Middle School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, traveled the world and eventually made his home in Oakland, California. He was supervisor of security for special events of a private security firm.

The son of Arlena Falcon of Blountstown, Adrian and his mom both had birthdays this month. Arlena spent several days in California with Adrian where he treated her to a night at the San Francisco Symphony for her birthday Sunday. She flew out Monday, experienced some flight delays, and made it home in the early morning hours on Wednesday. He was killed just a few hours later.

A memorial service was held in California on Tuesday. A local service will be held May 3, from 5 to 8 p.m., at East Side Baptist Church in Marianna. For Adrian’s complete obituary, check out this week's print edition.
