Jonathan Earl Holmes, 22, was on trial in the Calhoun County Courthouse last Tuesday and was convicted by day’s end for his role in a convenience store robbery.
Holmes and Shacarrio Poitier, 18, were arrested back in May of last year for allegedly robbing the Pit Stop on SR 20 west. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the clerk said two black males entered the store wearing dark clothing and bandannas. She alleged one man held her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her, while the other took approximately $800 from the cash register. Sentencing is set for May 4.
