The Blountstown Tigers are putting the bats in motion as they prepare for the 2011 baseball season.
The Tigers debuted Friday in the red and white game.
“For the weather, they did pretty good,” says Coach Emory Horne. “It was rainy and foggy and cold. They were a little ahead of where I expected them to be.”
The Tigers will take part in the Pre-Season Classic hosted by Liberty County High School this week. BHS goes up against Wewa on Thursday with game time at 4 p.m. CT. They will take on LCHS Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
The regular season opens at 5 p.m. Tuesday at home against Franklin County.
“We’re going to be young, but full of young talent,” says Coach Horne.
The alumni softball and baseball game is Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Come out for pork dinners and enjoy the show! Any interested alumni are urged to show up ready to play.
