An Altha woman was carjacked in Jackson County late Friday night, leading to a high speed chase across two counties.
Elizabeth Reagan contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office shortly after 11 p.m. to report a white male had abducted her at knifepoint, forcing her to drive to Magnolia Landing. He made her get out of the 1999 Buick, then drove off.
A description of the car was broadcast to surrounding counties and Washington County authorities spotted it around 2 a.m. When they attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading them on a 15 minute chase back into Jackson County, then returning to Washington County where the driver crashed.
Christopher Cruz Walley of Cottondale was found behind the wheel and now faces carjacking, kidnapping, and aggravated assault charges in Jackson County. He was taken into custody in Washington County where he faces numerous traffic charges.
